Merzouga is about 560 kilometres from Marrakech and 470 kilometres from Fes, so the journey is a big part of the trip. These tours spread the drive over several days and stop where it is worth stopping: the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, the Dades valley, the Todra gorge, the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas and the Ziz valley.
Every tour includes a private vehicle with an experienced driver, hotels or guesthouses with dinner and breakfast, and a night in the dunes at our own camp. You can start in Marrakech and finish in Fes (or the other way round), so you don't need to go back on yourself.

Is a 2-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga possible?
It is possible but we don't recommend it. It means 9 to 10 hours of driving each way and very little time to enjoy the desert. Three days is the shortest trip we think is worth it.
Are the multi-day tours private or shared?
Private by default: the vehicle, the driver and the guide are just for your group. Ask us about small shared groups if you are travelling alone.
What kind of hotels do you use?
Clean, family-run guesthouses and kasbah hotels with private bathrooms, chosen for the welcome and the food. Tell us if you'd like something more upmarket and we'll adjust the price.
Can we change the route?
Yes. Add a night, skip a stop or start in another city. Every multi-day tour can be adjusted, and the price is confirmed before you book.
