Our camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes

A small family camp tucked between the dunes, a short camel ride from Merzouga. Two kinds of tent, one fire, and a sky with no lights in it.

  • Reached byCamel, about 1 hour (or 4x4)
  • TentsStandard and luxury

Two ways to sleep in the dunes

Both tents are in the same camp and share the same fire, food and view. Every group gets its own tent.

Life at camp

Food

Dinner starts with harira or vegetable soup and Moroccan salads, followed by a chicken, beef or vegetable tajine (or couscous), then fruit. Breakfast is bread, msemmen pancakes, jam, honey, eggs, coffee and tea. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy-friendly meals on request.

Water and bathrooms

Bottled water is always available. Standard tents share clean toilets and showers; luxury tents have their own. Water is precious in the desert, so showers are short.

Power and signal

The camp runs on solar power. There's light in every tent and a place to charge phones. Mobile signal comes and goes, which most guests end up enjoying.

Nights

Desert nights are cool all year and cold in winter, close to freezing in December and January. Every bed has thick blankets, and we add more when needed.

Safety

Our team sleeps at camp and is there all night. The camp is a short drive from Merzouga, so help is never far.

Luggage

Bring a small bag for the night. Your big luggage stays locked at our guesthouse in Merzouga, or travels to camp by 4x4 if you're in a luxury tent.
